Artist Profile: Brian Keith, Blackhawk Plaza

Brian Keith is a good friend of mine who now resides in the east bay area. I’m partial because he lives right on the Sacramento Delta with surfboards and a Mastercraft ski boat at his disposal any time I’m up. He is also part of the reason I’m at where I am with my photography today. Pushing me to “go for it” when this all seamed so daunting and encouraging me to strive for excellence. Brian, first and foremost, is “the” example of what it means to live for Christ and to follow his call. Second, he is an incredible artist. Going from painting to sculpting almost overnight he just finished his largest project to date. He has sculpted the likes of President Reagan but it is this project that will put him at the top of the game. Brian was commissioned to sculpt seven life size pieces for Blackhawk plaza which lies in the heart of the Silicon valley in Danville California. It was such an honor to visit occasionally and follow Brian as these pieces took shape and came to life. So you can imagine that I didn’t hesitate to catch the first flight out when he asked if I would shoot the final pieces installed in the plaza. Please take a moment to leave your comment and drop by his website as well.

scott robert lim - wow, I need to get over there one of these days and take a gander for myself. Those sculptures are beautiful. So funny how Brian brought us both together and yet all three of us have never sat in a room together. That just seems odd to me!! I’m sure Brian really appreciated these pictures, you did an outstanding job. Btw, love the new blog too! I guess everyone is leaving Xanga!

Clay Whiteley - Thanks for all your help and input. Your blog is looking great, the great photography helps too! Keep it up.
